A Walk on the C & O Towpath in Maryland

By Nate Feldman

When I was a student at American University in Washington, DC (2004-2006), I lived in Bethesda, Maryland.  During my free time, I discovered a lot of great parks to explore the outdoors.  One of my personal favorite places to hike and run at was the C & O Canal Towpath, which runs 184.5 miles from downtown Washington to Cumberland, Maryland, in the western part of the state.

The part of the trail I frequented the most was around the Seneca Special Landing Park, about 20 miles or so away from Washington.  I loved the serenity of the woods and the beauty of the Potomac River.

This video is of me walking the trail on an afternoon in July, 2016.  The music are some of my own compositions.
